Sensibly Dealing With Emptiness A Poem Written in 2015 Something someone said to me, It made sense, Once it sunk in. He said that I might have an emptiness But I should not fill it with just anything. It is true I have been finding distractions I have been filling the void with nonsense Stuff that had little value That I would not like for the long haul. I am talking in abstracts, I am not being specific Do you really need to know the details Of my utter idiocy And just how stupid I have been lately? Suffice it to say That this talk of sensibility Was very unexpected, It was not welcome then I shooed it away as soon as it was mentioned, But later I thought that I could indeed Be a better me, Be a better version, If I just followed his advice, And just showed that I cared enough To be a little more patient, And a little less desperate.
