Tribute to International Women's Day

Tribute to International Women's Day International Women's Day grew out of the labour movement and has become an United Nations recognized annual event. The origins began in 1908, when fifteen thousand women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better wages and voting rights. I found these words a few ‘yrs’ ago. I felt strongly enough that I posted them then and feel the same today: The world is filled with people who, no matter what you do, no matter what you try, will simply not like you. But the world is also filled with those who will love you fiercely. The ones who love you; they are your people. Don't waste your finite time and heart trying to convince people who aren't your people that you have value. They will miss it completely. They won't buy what you are selling. Don't try to convince them to walk your path with you because you will only waste your time and your emotional good health. You are not for them and they are not for you. You are not their cup of tea and they are NOT yours. Politely wave them along and you move away as well. Seek to share your path with those who recognize and appreciate your gifts, who YOU are. Be who YOU are! You are not everyone’s cup of tea and that is OK  |

1908 was more likely part of the suffrage movement that began in 1848. Strange since women were much stronger in those days. And it took the UN 30 years to create the international woman's day. Not a glowing endorsement then and today association with the UN is nothing to celebrate as its become widely corrupt serving the special interest of individuals at the top. And since we're here in the today zone... I'm offended!  Just where is the day that celebrates the struggle men go through? As if we would want one in the first place. Unless they're gay, men don't have that need to draw attention to themselves.

It was created in response to International Women's Day.

I think people - men and women - spend too much energy and time seeking affirmation from others, rather than just DOING it. Whatever IT is. Just do it!
